A Message from the President

As a proud graduate of North Carolina Central University, I am honored by the opportunity to serve as the President of the Washington DC Metro HBCU Alumni Alliance, Inc. (DCHBCUAA). As a non-profit organization, our membership includes over 60 alumni chapters representing historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) from across the country. We represent our alma maters as professionals, leaders, and volunteers in our communities by making a difference and promoting the richness of our HBCUs. We assist our institutions financially and educate students on the benefits of attending HBCU institutions. As one of the largest HBCU alumni networks in the United States, we will continue to foster even greater success for our local DC affiliate. We invite local alumni chapters to get involved. We are eagerly seeking partnerships to address our focus areas - Health & Wellness, Higher Education, & Hunger- affecting the African American communities.

We invite you to join us for our annual fundraisers, the DC Metro HBCU Alumni Alliance 5K Run/ 2K Walk, HBCU Alumni Community Day, and the HBCU Alumni Black Tie Gala. These fundraisers help support scholars and our focus areas.

If your HBCU Alumni Chapter is not currently a member of the DCHBCUAA, why not join us today? For more information about joining the DCHBCUAA, click on JOIN. Let’s unite in positively impacting our community with relevant activities and events that support our HBCUs with the support, resources, and opportunities they desire.

Sincerely,

Tanyé Coleman
